3rd annual Witches of Eastport 

Haunted Ball, Pumpkin Derby and Parade

 

Friday, October 24th,  Haunted Ball!

7-10 pm

Eastport Arts Center  New this year, the downstairs gallery will be transformed into a spooky mansion with decor designed by Amy Ray.  The ball starts at 7pm; tickets to benefit the EAC programs are $15 per body, $25 for two bodies.  Prizes will be awarded for most creative costume, scariest costume, funniest costume and best pair.  With a slate of songs to get your bones shaking - dance to music by DJ Catherine Lee.

Saturday, October 25th,  downtown Eastport

1- 3 pm:

All along Water St - Interactive activities along Water St., Make bewitchng art at the Eastport Gallery, tarot readings at Downeast Creations, art activities at Boatload of Books, fiber arts spinning (it's sweater weather!) at Lunamuse with Manuela, pumpkin carving on the deck at Horn Run Brewing and more!. 

At Overlook park - Chalk-the-Walk with Sweeties Downeast and enjoy face painting with Chong. The Tides Institute will host an all-ages art-activity and the Parks and Recreation club will help you adorn pumpkin racers for the always hilarious Pumpkin Derby and Pumpkin Roll!  We will supply wheeled bases and pumpkins for the first 12 people in the Derby, and another 18 pumpkins for the ​Pumpkin Roll.  Or bring your own lucky pumpkin to race!

3 - 4 pm:

The Pumpkin Derby will start on the Boynton Street Hill.   Prizes awarded for racers in two categories:  wheeled races and rolled pumpkins.   

Immediately following the Derby:

Muster in the City Hall Parking lot for the Witches parade.   Parade will go down Water Street to the WaCo diner, then come back along the seawall to the Amphitheater.

Immediately following the Parade:

Join the Eastport Elementary cheer squad and the Eastport Senior Center Cardio Drumming class for the annual Witches Dance! 

 

6:30 - 8 pm:

"Making a Murder Mystery: Murder and the Macabre" at A Boatload of Books.

Join eight acclaimed writers for a spine-chilling, interactive storytelling event where the audience helps craft a classic whodunit and a ghostly tale - just in time for Halloween!  There will also be a fun round of trivia and prizes, along with an author Q & A and book signings.
